Eşref Rüyadizisinde, Demet Özdemir’in canlandırdığı Nisan Akyol’un yaşadığı ev olarak kullanılan mekânın Salti Pasajı / Rigo Apartmanları içinde yer aldığı çeşitli çekim yeri kaynaklarında belirtilmektedir.

A characterful investment opportunity in one of Istanbul’s most distinctive historic neighbourhoods
Located on Küçük Hendek Street, along the historic walking route between Tünel and the Galata Tower, this two-storey commercial property offers a rare opportunity to acquire a space with genuine architectural character and a strong sense of place.
The property is situated inside Salti Passage, one of Galata’s historic courtyards and passageways. Unlike a standard retail unit, this is a space with its own identity, atmosphere and story—an ideal setting for an international buyer looking to establish a boutique business, creative studio, cultural venue or distinctive brand presence in Istanbul.
Discover Galata
Galata is one of Istanbul’s most recognisable neighbourhoods, where the city’s historic, artistic and cosmopolitan character come together. Its narrow streets connect the iconic Galata Tower with Tünel, İstiklal Avenue, Karaköy and the Bosphorus. The area is visited throughout the year by tourists, artists, designers, collectors, entrepreneurs and Istanbul residents looking for independent cafés, galleries, boutiques and creative spaces.
For someone unfamiliar with Istanbul, Galata offers an especially attractive combination:
-A globally recognisable location with strong visitor appeal
-A historic urban atmosphere unlike modern commercial districts
-A lively mix of tourism, art, gastronomy, design and culture
-High visibility among visitors exploring Istanbul on foot
-A limited supply of independent spaces with authentic architectural features
-Strong potential for creating a memorable destination rather than simply operating a conventional shop
Owning a property in Galata means becoming part of one of the city’s most established cultural and creative districts.
The story of Salti Passage
Salti Passage is understood to have been completed towards the end of the 19th century, with sources dating its completion to approximately 1899. Developed around a courtyard and composed of three blocks, the building reflects the Levantine architectural character of historic Galata.
The property was initially known as the Rigo Apartments and later became known as Salti Passage, after its owner Sami Salti. Architectural archive references also associate the building with Jean Psalty and the historic furniture business Maison Psalty Constantinople, which was connected with furniture design, production and sales.
This background gives the building a particularly relevant connection to craftsmanship, design and production—an identity that remains highly suitable for an atelier, showroom, gallery or creative business today.
The passage has also attracted attention through popular culture. Various filming-location sources identify Salti Passage / the former Rigo Apartments as a location associated with the television series Eşref Rüya, including the residence of the character Nisan Akyol, played by Demet Özdemir. This has contributed to the building’s visibility among visitors discovering Galata through Istanbul’s film and television locations.
Property features
The space was previously used as a painting atelier, a function that naturally complements the building’s historic atmosphere. Its stone and brick walls, two-level layout and position within the passage offer the possibility of creating a strong visual identity for a new business or brand.

-Main Area: 46 m²

The main area can be used as an entrance and reception area, display window, boutique retail space, consultation point or product presentation area.
The storage area can be an extra room for all the materials and stuff.
The whole unit could become an artist’s studio, a design showroom, a private gallery, a reservation-only concept store or a creative office.

The two-storey structure also creates an opportunity to separate functions. The lower level can welcome visitors and present the brand, while the upper level can be used for production, appointments, workshops or private events.
Why this property is special
This is not simply a commercial unit in Istanbul. It is an opportunity to create a business within a historic setting that already has architectural presence and cultural associations.
A new exhibition could open in front of the original stone and brick walls. A design label could present a collection in an intimate showroom environment. A creative workshop could take place during the day, followed by a private event in the evening. The space can adapt to different business models and evolve with its owner.
For an international buyer, the property offers the possibility of combining:
-Ownership of a distinctive commercial asset in central Istanbul
-A location with established international recognition
-A historic setting capable of strengthening a brand’s identity
-Flexible use for creative, cultural, retail or appointment-based concepts
-The opportunity to operate a business in one of Istanbul’s most atmospheric neighbourhoods
-A property with long-term potential beyond conventional retail use
The value of this property lies not only in its 63.85 m² of usable space, but also in its setting, history and ability to become a destination in its own right.
A rare chance to own a piece of historic Galata
For buyers seeking more than a standard investment—whether as an artist, designer, collector, entrepreneur or international brand—this property offers the chance to give a historic Istanbul space a new purpose.
